Welcome to Nicola’s Ristorante Italiano! After ten years at the Dallas Galleria, Nicola’s relocated a few miles north to continue satisfying metroplex appetites for authentic, hand-made Italian cuisine.
Its opulent, theatrical design features a sophisticated bar, romantic, high-backed booths, al fresco dining on the patio, private dining room for fourteen, and a stunning mezzanine overlooking the main dining area for the best people watching in town.
Chef Luigi Iannuario’s Northern Italian cuisine is authentically prepared in the venerated traditions of his mother country. All pasta is hand made on-premise, using traditional shapes not commonly seen in American restaurants. There are no freezers in this restaurant, and groceries are delivered twice a day to insure only market-fresh ingredients are prepared.
The antipasto offering at the front of the restaurant serves paper-thin slivers of prosciutto paired with any number of complementary tastes and textures, including rich Italian cheeses, fire-roasted, marinated vegetables, and firm, sweet fruit. The prosciutto is cut on a hand-cranked slicer instead of a modern, electric appliance to prevent the delicate prosciutto from being over-cooked by an electrically overheated blade.
The imported wood-burning oven produces Nicola’s delicious pizza, lasagnetta, and baked fish. Other aromas wafting from the kitchen include zucchini fritti, calamari, and the legendary Focaccia Nicola. Do not leave without trying the gelato-filled profiteroles drizzled with impossibly rich chocolate.
Rounding out the sensory overload experience are televisions in the bar broadcasting Italian programming and sports, Italian wines and aperitifs. Nicola’s embodies la dolce vita and looks forward to embracing new and returning guests.
